Ring Size Chart Pakistan: How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home

To measure your ring size at home, wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure that length in millimetres. That number is your finger circumference, and it converts directly to a ring size. Two minutes and a ruler is the whole method.

Ring sizing is the one measurement people most often skip and most often get wrong, largely because Pakistani jewellers, US charts and UK charts all use different numbering for the same finger. The good news is that circumference in millimetres is universal, so if you measure once and write the number down, every chart in the world becomes readable.

Measure your finger circumference, or the inside diameter of a ring that already fits, then read across to your US or UK size. Most online stores in Pakistan, including Metcos, list rings in US sizes.

Most adult women in Pakistan fall between US 6 and US 8, with US 7 the single most common size. Most adult men fall between US 9 and US 11. These are starting points, not substitutes for measuring.

The paper strip method, step by step

1. Cut a strip of paper about 5 mm wide and 10 cm long. Ordinary printer paper is fine. Do not use tape or thread, both stretch.
2. Wrap it around the base of the finger you will wear the ring on, snug but not tight. You should be able to slide it slightly.
3. Mark where the end overlaps with a pen, then unwrap it.
4. Measure from the end to the mark in millimetres. That is your circumference.
5. Check it against the chart above. If you land between two sizes, take the larger one.

The other method: measure a ring you already own

If you have a ring that fits the same finger, lay it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter across the widest point, in millimetres. Multiply that by 3.14 to get circumference. This is the more accurate of the two methods, and it is the one to use if you are buying a surprise gift.

The four things that change your reading

If you are unsure, measure three times on different days and take the largest reading. A ring that is slightly loose can be worn. A ring that will not pass the knuckle cannot.

Why most Metcos rings skip sizing entirely

Most of our rings are adjustable coil designs. The band is not a closed circle: it overlaps slightly at the back and opens or closes with gentle finger pressure, so one ring fits a range of finger sizes rather than a single one.

That solves three problems at once. There is no size to get wrong when ordering. There is no resizing to pay for later. And it makes a ring one of the very few pieces of jewelry you can buy as a gift without knowing anything about the person's measurements, which is precisely why they sell as well as they do around Eid.

How to adjust one without damaging it

1. Adjust it off the finger, never while wearing it.
2. Move it gradually, a little at a time, holding the band rather than the decorated top.
3. Never twist the head or lever against a stone setting. That is where the stress lands and where damage happens.
4. Adjust it rarely. Metal fatigues if it is opened and closed repeatedly. Set it once for the finger you wear it on and leave it there.

A note on printable ring sizers

Printable sizing charts work, but only if the page prints at exactly 100 per cent scale. Print dialogues on most machines default to "fit to page", which silently shrinks the sheet and gives you a size that is one or two out. If you use one, check it by measuring a printed 100 mm line with a ruler before you trust it. The paper strip method has no such failure mode, which is why we recommend it first.
