Common questions about gold plated rings

Do I need to know my ring size?

For most of our designs, no. They are adjustable coil rings that shape to the finger, which is why they suit gifting. Any design that is fixed size says so on its product page.

How much do gold plated rings cost in Pakistan?

At Metcos, Rs. 2,850 to Rs. 3,450. This is our most affordable category and the usual entry point for a first order.

How long does the plating last on a ring?

Less than on any other piece, typically one to two years of regular wear, because the shank rubs constantly against fingers and objects. Take rings off before washing hands, cooking and cleaning, and the difference is substantial.

Will a gold plated ring turn my finger green?

Not while the plating and anti-tarnish coat are intact. If it starts to, the plating has worn through somewhere and the brass underneath is reacting with sweat. It is harmless, but that piece needs replating, usually Rs. 500 to Rs. 2,000 at a local goldsmith.
