Artificial Jewelry Prices in Pakistan: What Each Budget Buys

In Pakistan, artificial jewelry runs from roughly Rs. 500 to Rs. 25,000, and the price is set by three things: what the stones are, how thick the gold layer is, and what metal sits underneath. Design and size barely move it. Two pieces that look identical in a photograph can differ fourfold on all three counts.

That is why price comparison online is so difficult, and why the same photograph appears on listings at Rs. 1,800 and Rs. 6,000. This guide sets out what each band actually buys, so you can tell which one you are looking at.

A useful shortcut: pick the piece up. Brass has weight. A piece that feels light for its size is usually alloy, and alloy is where most of the cost has been taken out.

What each budget buys

Under Rs. 2,000: bazaar and marketplace jewelry

Glass or acrylic stones, a flash gold coat, and usually an alloy base. Fine for a single function or a costume look, and honest sellers in this band are not pretending otherwise.

Expect the finish to change within weeks of regular wear, and expect no packaging, no stated materials and no one to contact afterwards. Judge it as a garment accessory rather than as jewelry and it does its job.

Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000: the everyday band

This is where real materials start. Zircon rather than glass, brass rather than alloy, a proper plating layer, and usually a box. Studs, rings and lighter earrings live here, which is why it is where most people make their first considered purchase.

• No mention of the base metal or the stones. Sellers who use brass and zircon say so, because it is the reason their price is higher.
• A permanent sale. A discount that has been running for months is a price, not a discount.
